Virg Augoustatos, grief and trauma therapist in Seattle Washington, founder of Prismatic Arts Counseling

I help grieving creatives and deep feelers navigate traumatic loss, relational trauma, and emotional overwhelm so they can stay connected to life without leaving their grief behind.

I’ll help you cultivate your capacity to feel your emotions, rebuild a sense of safety in your body, and reconnect with yourself and others in ways that feel meaningful. I’ll help you create a relationship with grief that makes room for both loss and living. Together, we’ll work toward healing that allows you to feel more empowered and at ease in your life.

Perhaps you’ve arrived here because...

Grief feels overwhelming and isolating. Whether you're mourning a loss, navigating change or transition in life, or carrying the weight of unspoken sorrow, you may feel stuck between deep pain and a world that keeps moving forward.

Anxiety makes it hard to feel at peace. Racing thoughts, self-doubt, and worry may be running the show. You might feel disconnected from yourself, constantly on edge, or struggling to relax—even when you’re exhausted. You want deeper connection but often feel unseen, misunderstood, or emotionally distant—even from the people who love you.

Trauma has left you feeling disconnected. Something happened that changed you or a complex history of harm has led you to feeling unsafe, uncertain, or disconnected from who you used to be. Your body may hold tension and fear, even when your mind says you're "fine." Maybe you struggle with self-compassion, body image, or trusting your own needs. You want to feel more at home in yourself

You are welcome here.

Light refracting through a prism mirrors the process of therapy. Rays of light are experienced as an orchestra of colors previously hidden. Similarly, therapy provides a comprehensive look at the strengths, beliefs, and values that play a role in the greater narrative of your life. What was once a limited and rigid understanding of the self is transformed into multifaceted, expansive self-awareness. Therapy invites you into the realization that you are already whole and that who you are, right now, is enough. The ritual of therapy creates space for compassion, curiosity, and possibility in the constellation of yourself and your life.
